The contents of the Grand Theft Auto VI Collector’s Edition have been revealed
Rockstar has explained that the controversial items included in the GTA 6 Collector’s Edition package are references to the company’s history.

The contents of the Grand Theft Auto VI Collector’s Edition bundle announced by Rockstar have caused quite a stir in the gaming world. The Goodtime State Vice City Collection package, which does not include the game itself and carries a $400 price tag, was initially the target of criticism from players. However, it became clear that some of the unusual items included in the bundle were not chosen at random but were based on rare promotional items from the company’s past.
Nostalgic Details in the Collection Package
The items in the bundle that drew the most attention—and were initially met with skepticism—actually serve as a tribute to the series’ and the developer’s history. With this special set, Rockstar is reintroducing some rare items from earlier eras to players. Some of the standout items in the package include:
- Macca the Gator mirror: An updated version of a rare mirror given as a gift to staff at the 1980s-themed launch party for *GTA: Vice City*.
- Razor-shaped keychain: Designed with inspiration from promotional materials used during the original Vice City era.
- Swizzle spoon: A nod to the 14-karat gold-plated spoon distributed to developers during the 2009 launch of Grand Theft Auto IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony.
Analysis and Evaluation
While the high price tag and the absence of the game itself in the package may not completely silence the criticism, these choices demonstrate the studio’s effort to forge a nostalgic connection with its fan base. Rather than filling the collector’s edition of the new title with run-of-the-mill items, Rockstar chose to reinterpret iconic pieces from its corporate history and the series’ past.
